He has been serving as Chairman, Tamil Nadu State Cooperative Bank and also Chairman, Salem Central Co Operative Bank, He is also the Management Trustee of MIT School and Colleges and serving for the cause of educational development of students.

Vice Chairman – MIT Institutions, Musiri

Er. E. Praveen Kumar, Vice Chairman of the MIT Institutions, Musiri, holds Bachelor Degree in B.Tech (Engineering) from Sathyabama University, Chennai. He is the member of the Swamy Ayyappan Educational Trust, working for the welfare and educational development of students, an integral part of the curriculum. He also plays strategic roles in group institutions like MIT College of Agriculture and Technology, MIT Polytechnic College, MIT College of Arts and Science for Women, MIT Bodhi Vidhayala CBSC School and MIT College of Health Sciences. 

Mr. K. Shanmugam, IAS

Former Advisor of Tamil Nadu & Former Chief Secretary, Govt. of Tamil Nadu

He hails from Vazhapadi village in Salem District. He completed his Masters degree in Agriculture from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, passed the Indian Civil Service Examination and joined the Government of Tamil Nadu on 27 August 1985. He started his career in 1985 as the Assistant District Collector of Tanjore District. Since then, he has been the Collector of Sivagangai and Pudukottai and has been responsible for various important departments. Prior to his appointment as Chief Secretary, Govt. of Tamil Nadu, he held key positions in the General Secretariat, including Principal Secretary, Department of Cooperatives, Food and Consumer Protection and Secretary, Department of Finance. As Finance Secretary since May 2010, has dealt with the state’s financial crisis. During his tenure as Finance Secretary, he received a lot of praise from many quarters. He has tabled 9 budgets and 2 interim budgets of Tamil Nadu State.

He Completed Administrative service as Dean (Horticulture), TNAU, Coimbatore, Head of the Department for 12 years 10 months and academic / farm administrative services for 14 years. He had 28 years of teaching experience and formulated 13 new academic Course/Degree programmes. As Chairman of Advisory Committee, guided 12 Ph.D and 25 M.Sc. students. He served as Member in Govt. of India – ICAR viz., Agricultural Scientist Recruitment Board, Institute Management Committee, Peer Review Team (PRT), Special Task force on vegetable development in Precision farming and offered educational services. He developed e-Content Module and served as Content Developer and Validator for the delivery of scientific knowledge to the students.
He released 30 Horticulture Crop varieties for the benefit of farming community and 7 technologies  for the maximizing the Horticulture productivity and specially Polyhouse cultivation of capsicum and tomato and Grafting technology in Brinjal. He also facilitated in getting GI tag for Ramanathapuram Mundu Chilli and Vellore Spiny Brinjal. 

He has completed 80 Research projects and sourced/mobilized Rs.2,084.71 Lakhs as Research grant to Tamil Nadu Agricultural University from various international, national organizations including DBT and DST, NABARD, State Government and Private agencies. He also published more than 360 research papers in peer-reviewed international and NAAS rated national journals with Google Citations (1186), h-index (18) and i-10 index (32). He published 55 Books authored with ISBN, 5 text books for tamil medium B.Sc. (Hort.) degree programme, Book chapters in ISBN books (60 Nos.) and popular articles (106 Nos.) for the benefit of research scholars. 
He has visited 8 Foreign Countries viz., Israel, South Korea, China, USA, Switzerland, Geneva, Germany and Nepal for the exchange scientific knowledge. Also served as Consultant 18 Nos. Government programmes notably to Indo-Australian Chamber of Commerce, State Micro Irrigation Committee (SMIC), DMC, DMIC, Raj Bhavan, Chennai, Spices Board and Department of Horticulture and Plantation Crops.
He received 19 Nos. of Honors/Awards at National level and 05 Nos. at International level highlighting the contributions in the field of Horticulture. He has renovated the historical botanical garden of TNAU and made the entire campus of TNAU “Green and Clean”. This has enabled TNAU to obtain 2nd position in the “Green and Clean Campus Award” of ICAR for the year 2020. He established ‘VIBGYOR’ Garden at Raj Bhavan, Chennai and established Ultra High Density Planting of Mango which was inaugurated by Honorable Governor of Tamil Nadu and Chancellor of TNAU.
He has produced vegetable seeds worth of more than Rs.10.00 crores under farmers participatory mode which has covered more than 50,000 hectares for the last 20 years for the benefit of farming community and introduced “Automatic Seed vending Machines” for easy delivery of vegetable seeds for kitchen garden in urban areas.

He completed his B.Sc.(Ag.) during 1988; M.Sc.(Ag.) 1990 and Ph.D. at ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi during 1994. He served in various positions as Principal Scientist, ICAR-NRCB, Tiruchirapalli (2009 to till date); Senior Scientist, ICAR-NRCB, Tiruchirapalli (2003-2009); Scientist –Sr.Scale, ICAR-NRCB, Tiruchirapalli (1998-2003); Scientist, ICAR-NRCB, Tiruchirapalli (1996-1998); Scientist, ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru (1995-1996); Scientist (Training), ICAR-ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad (1994-1995). Plant pathology and plant virology are his areas of expertise. He is an alumni of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, completed his Undergraduate program during 1987 and Post graduation in Plant Breeding & Genetics during 1989.  He worked as a Research Associate in ICAR Hybrid Pigeon pea scheme during 1990-91 at TNAU, Coimbatore. He has joined in the Ph.D. Program during 1991 and completed during 1994 with a recipient of five awards as the best PhD Student at TNAU University level during 1995.  Also, he is recipient of ICAR Senior fellowship & CSIR Senior fellowship for PhD. Program.  He had his Post Doctorate Program at Plant Research International Wageningen, The Netherlands during 2002-2003.

Dr. C. Vanniarajan has qualified in Agricultural Research Service and joined at National Research Centre for Sorghum, Hyderabad during 1995.  He also got permanent position at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University during 1995. He has worked in various campus Killikulam, Coimbatore, Srivilliputhur, Chettinad, Madurai.  He is specialized in Mutation breeding, barnyard millet, Plant Genetic Resources.   Recipient of best teacher, best researcher, best book, best thesis awards, etc., He has many external funded schemes in DST, UGC, BRNS, TANII etc.  He has guided so far 14 PhD, 18 M.Sc., and one Post Doctorate Fellow.  He has published more than 250 research articles in reputed journals.  He has visited the Netherlands, Japan, USA, and Austria for research purpose.  Currently, he is aiming for all research oriented towards sodic soils.

Dr. T. Raguchander

Dr. T. Raguchander has vast experience both in Under Graduate and Post Graduate teaching in the subject of Plant Pathology. His field of specialisation is phytotoxin in activation by microbes and PGPR mediated resistance against pathogens in plants. So far 240 research papers both in national and international peer reviewed journals and 20 book chapters have been published. Published 5 books in Plant Pathology as ready reckoner for the benefit of Under Graduate students. Obtained 14 and 16 externally funded research projects as Principal Investigator and Co- PI from various funding agencies like DBT, DST, ICAR, Sugar Cane Development Fund, FAO and Private companies like Syngenta, Rallis India, Bayor Crop Science and Coramandel International etc.
